Addison Group in Space! (As submitted by Dr Craig I Underwood of Surrey's Space Centre) The Surrey Space Centre thank's the Addison Group, Guildford, for its important contribution to the UK's first "Nanosatellite" SNAP-1.

The Addison Group supported the mission by the precision cutting of the near-infra red (NIR) optical glass filter which is an integral part of SNAP-1's narrow angle camera. The NIR filter, precisely cut by the Addison Glassworks team, provides good discrimination between land, sea and clouds, and allows the camera to produce clear images through the otherwise hazy atmosphere.
